We only had a 20 minute journey to reach our new destination of Lake Awoonga. We didn’t hurry to pack up and stopped in Tannum Sands to go walking, do some shopping and have a coffee so we didn’t arrive too early at our new park. We were given a lovely grassy site that overlooks the lake. We have friendly wallabies and kookaburras visiting too. Unfortunately, one of the kookaburras decided it liked the look of one of our neighbours’ fishing lures. (It was rubber.) The kookaburra swooped down and took it. Our neighbour chased it as it flew up into a tree. The kookaburra managed to shake it and break off the hook and line and was left with the rubber part which looked like a small fish. The kookaburra swallowed it so who knows what will happen to the lure and the kookaburra. We went for a short drive and drove to a spot on the Boyne River where we might put the kayak in if I don’t do more kayaking on the lake.
