Tuesday 15th August Discovery Parks Tannum Sands

An energetic day for both of us today. Rob headed out to the Boyne Highland Tannum Sands Golf Club. He played 9 holes but used 2 balls and apart from being told off by some of the women on the course (even though he had been told it was fine for him to play), he enjoyed himself. I did some washing and then went for a lovely walk along the ocean front to a café. Once Rob had finished playing golf, he met me at the café and joined me for coffee. We returned to the caravan and after lunch I went for a kayak on the nearby creek. In the early morning the creek was wide and deep but by the time I was due to go the creek was narrow and not so deep. Rob had worked out that it was low tide when I took off and that soon the water from the ocean would come rushing in. I was able to kayak in some places but had to get out and pull the kayak through very shallow water in many more. I didn’t mind and I did enjoy watching the bird life and the entertaining swarms of tiny crabs running on the mud flats. When it was time to turn around and head back, I had hoped that I may have been able to kayak all the way back but it wasn’t to be so once again I was in and out of the kayak. Anyway after more than two hours of doing this, I certainly had done enough exercise for the day.
