Thursday 3rd August Cardwell Van Park

We woke to a lovely sunny day so we’re pretty happy about that. Rob decided that the nearby golf club looked pretty good and he thought he’d play 9 holes. While he was enjoying his golf, I wandered off to the Cardwell Cemetery. Information boards gave me interesting accounts of some of the more prominent Cardwell citizens who were laid to rest here. Following these activities, Rob was keen to go to our favourite food shop and have a morning tea of coffee and crab cakes. He was very pleased as the crab cakes were available this time not like the last time we drove through Cardwell. After our refill, we decided to drive to another waterfall, Murray Falls. It took us just over 30 minutes and as we arrived Rob thought we’d actually had visited these falls a few years ago. The walk into the falls was short and easy and certainly worth it. The amount of water tumbling over the falls was tremendous, making a roar. We watched some brave and silly young men jumping into the water holes at the base of the falls. We realised that we had visited these falls before and probably around the same time of the year but the amount of water coming over the falls during that visit was more like a trickle compared with what we saw today.
