Every Thursday, Maryborough closes off one of the main streets and a Farmers Market is set up there. It starts at 7am so before departing, we visited the market. There was a good range of fresh farm products, baked products, clothing etc. and many other variety stalls but as we’d done a grocery shop yesterday we didn’t end up purchasing anything. We hit the road and started making[Ma1] our way to a town we had not heard of, Biloela. Along the way we found new places we could possibly explore in the future including the north and south Burnett regions, Lake Callide, Mt Perry etc. Arriving in Biloela we were very surprised at how large the town is. It has a Woolworths and Drakes……and a Super Cheap Auto so it must be big. At the moment the caravan parks are very busy as the Queensland Heritage Vintage Agricultural Museum in Biloela is having its annual event, “Old Wheels in Motion Rally and Swap”, this weekend. The focus will be on vintage farm machinery, with demonstrations and events like the vintage tractor pull. It sounds like a bit of fun so possibly if we come this way again (it’s always held on the 3rd weekend in July), we may time our visit to see what it is all about.
