Saturday 8th July Beerwah Caravan Park

We were meant to have a short driving day but it didn’t work out that way. Originally from when we left Mt Warning, Google maps told us that the journey would take 2 and ½ hours but it took closer to 3 and ½. Our route took us through Brisbane and there were road works everywhere. Continuing on along the Bruce Highway, the traffic in some places moved at snail’s pace. Anyway we safely made it to our caravan park at Beerwah which is the heart of strawberry production. I recognised the name as I’m sure it had been on many punnets of strawberries I had bought in Adelaide. Beerwah, located in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, is close to the Glasshouse Mountains and Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo. We spent the afternoon visiting some spectacular lookouts as well as visiting some waterfalls and completing a lovely walk through some dense rainforest.
