An easy drive inland today although probably took longer than we originally thought it would but that was due to a very long stop for coffee. We called into the small town of Kilcoy and I noticed that there were information boards on most of the shops in the main streets. The boards were extremely informative, describing the history of the building that stood there. There were photos of the buildings from its early days through the years. It was very interesting for me and so we spent quite a bit of time wandering up and down the streets. We also made a few phone calls so Rob didn’t feel his time was totally wasted. We continued on, arriving at Kingaroy around lunchtime. After setting up and having a quick bite to eat we headed out. We visited the Information Centre, opposite the huge peanut silos but the information centre was not open. From there we went to a famous Peanut Van which had been a feature of Kingaroy since 1964. We may have made some purchases. Continuing on, we decided to view Kingaroy from a lookout where we were able to see the surrounding landscape. We finished the afternoon off by visiting Pottique Lavender Farm shop and café. We were treated to magnificent gardens, several shops filled with artworks, Lavender products, antiques, galleries, garden products and a gorgeous café. We spent quite a lot of time here and enjoyed an afternoon tea in a beautiful courtyard.
