Sunday 25th June Canowindra

Today we faced a longer drive of 440kms so we set an alarm and managed to be on the road by 9AM. We had an uneventful trip stopping at a tiny town called Goolgowi for coffee before moving on past West Wyong and stopping at a rest stop for lunch. We called ahead to make sure we could “get in” to the caravan park at Canowindra and were very surprised when we were told that there was just one spot left as things in Canowindra were busy! We had chosen to visit this tiny little town because Rob had seen a backroads program about it and said it look interesting. Obviously many other people thought so too! After setting up, Rob and I went for a walk into the main part of town. Again it was full of history, quirky shops and historical buildings. The area dates back to 1815 with settlement beginning around 1827!
