Sadly, today was Pat’s final day of her short holiday with us and we would be travelling to Cairns to drop her off at the airport. As we didn’t need to be at the airport until later in the day, we decided that a nice way to finish her stay off would be to visit a papaya and coffee plantation, roastery and café. We had tried to visit a similar place on Friday but due to public holiday, it was not open. This morning we visited a new spot for us and enjoyed a beautiful brunch with lovely views. The Skybury Café is approximately 15 minutes’ drive out from Mareeba. We were able to look around the coffee centre with interpretive information, tasting’s and a small cinema showing short films about the production of coffee and papaya, all on offer. From here we travelled to Kuranda, stopping for a walk around the village and visiting a few shops before making our way down the mountain and to the airport. Once we had said our goodbyes to Pat, we did some shopping in Cairns before heading back to Yungaburra and our caravan park.
