It rained lightly on and off during the night so the “Misty Mountains” as this area is known, certainly is living up to its name. Although it was a little wet underfoot in the morning the rain stayed away for the day. We had a lazy start and decided to walk into the main part of town, visiting the Kari timber display before calling into a beautiful, café come gift shop for coffee. This particular shop had a wonderful selection of souvenirs and knick-knacks so while waiting for coffee I found a couple of lovely things that needed to come home to West Lakes with me. After returning to the van we decided to drive to the nearby town of Malanda. Malanda is a centre for the dairy industry and has a large processing plant in the middle of town. We called into the bakery for lunch, bought some meat from the local butcher and visited the very pretty Malanda Falls. Returning to Millaa Millaa, we visited the spectacular Millaa Millaa Falls where quite a few brave souls were in swimming and climbing up on the rocks behind the falls.
