We left home around 9.30am, not in any particular hurry as we didn’t have far to travel, stopping at the weigh station to check car/van weights before leaving the suburbs. It was a very cool day and by the time we reached Truro for the mandatory bakery stop the temperature had risen to a mighty 8 degrees. Coffees, a pasty and a sausage roll were needed to warm us up. At Truro, we parked the van next to two huge army trucks but they had moved on by the time we had returned to the van with our purchases. Once we had settled into our site at Cobdogla, we drove to Barmera to do a little shopping. Following lunch, we went for a walk and drive, checking out potential kayaking launching places. There are several beautiful kayaking trails close to the caravan park and hopefully we will return to this lovely park in warmer weather and try these trails out. The “powered sites” area of the Cobdogla Caravan Park survived the floods in Dec. Jan. as the council had built a huge levy bank mainly to protect the nearby SA Water plant. We are heading to the “Cobby”, the local club, for our dinner tonight as the owner of the park recommended it for a great meal and Rob wanted to check it out for future golf trips up this way.
