We said goodbye to Heather and Paul and our other friends who were also staying on at Lake Tinaroo for a couple more weeks. The weather is still a little wet, with low clouds, and very light rain but the temperature is around 24 degrees so it’s humid. We were heading to a park located about a 20 minute drive from the centre of Cairns and in the lower mountains. We decided to stop at Kuranda for coffee before driving down the very steep mountain to Cairns. We had booked into our new caravan park online and the computer had assigned a motor-home site so Rob had quite a job backing the caravan into the site but he managed very well. Once we’d set up, we drove to the esplanade area of Cairns with the wharf, water-park, bars, accommodation etc. The town was very busy as there was an Italian Festival going on. All the eateries, hotels and bars were full of people and families. We went for a lovely walk and stopped at a bar for a drink and to soak up the atmosphere.
